...
"Oh no..."
As I right clicked the top layer, GIMP decides it doesn't want to respond. I panicked a bit, until I thought of something.
"Hey, why don't I just printscreen it?"
I hit the printscreen button, open up Paint, and attempt to paste it there.
.... However, the paste option wasn't available. I freaked out once more, trying to think of ways to save the picture.
I closed out Windows Media Player (playing some good o' Persona 3 music, too) and some other things that were open. This, of course, didn't help.
... After that, the picture minimized itself (I hit minimize trying to get GIMP to respond. Repeatedly.) which was a delayed effect of that stuff just mentioned.
So, I went to the GIMP website in some hope to find a solution. My search turned up empty.
I sat around for ten minutes and waited for a response.
Nothing.
Angrily, I restarted the computer.
Though I had made a note to save at least once while working (I didn't bother this time because it never froze on this computer), I hadn't been working on it very long. I was pretty satisfied with the result, too.
Needless to say, GIMP's off of my computer for good and I hope to invest in something better in the future.

I live in a small town in central New Jersey myself. There's not much to it, really.
